A NAME CHANGE

FIRST HE LOOKED CONFUSED

I could not lie anymore so I started to call my dog ‘God.’

First he looked confused,

Then he started smiling, then he even danced.

I kept at it:  now he doesn’t even bite.

I am wondering if this might work on people?

REFLECTION:

  • What if you called someone by a new name?  What might happen?

STARTING AND FINISHING

246 year old Sargent Juniper - Montreal Botanical Garden

Sometimes the rule is:  You don’t have to finish, but you do have to start.

And sometimes the rule is:  You don’t have to start but if you do, you have to finish.

When building a personal habit, it might make sense to embrace the first rule.  You don’t have to run all the way, everyday, but you do have to get out of the house and start running.

And when making promises to a group where trust matters, the second rule definitely applies.

Quote by Seth Godin

REFLECTION:

  • What do you need to start (but not necessarily finish)?
  • What did you start that you have to finish?
  • Get going!

YOUR TASK

That which hinders your task is your task.

REFLECTION:

  • What task is being hindered now?
  • How can you embrace/transform the hinderance to move forward on your task?
