HABITS

“We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Quote by Aristotle – Greek Philosopher   Born 385 BC Died 322 BC

REFLECTION:

  • What things do you do repeatedly?
  • Are they good habits or bad habits?
  • Are there any habits you want to:  Stop?  Start?  Continue?
  • Make a list … commit to a new habit (just one) that will support your on the journey to excellence.

TOO HEAVY

Sometimes we are hanging on by a string but afraid to let go…

“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason they are too heavy.  So, let them go, let go of them.”

Quote by C. Joybell C.

REFLECTION:

  • What are you carrying (anger, resentments, un-forgiveness, memories of failures) that are too heavy?

  • What things can you let go of?

HAPPINESS

“Is this thing I want to acquire removing a negative from my life?”

We all want things from time to time. We think and have been often convinced that acquiring things will bring us happiness.  Most of us know this isn’t true.  There is always another thing tempting us with some grandiose promise.  But, what if you used  a different barometer?  What if you look at purchasing with a lens of removing something you have been tolerating? (like a broken dishwasher or a garage door that doesn’t remotely open and you have to get out in the cold and rain to open it)

Repairing or replacing that annoying thing may bring happiness to you!

My thoughts based on Tim Ferris Blog with Mr. Money Mustache

REFLECTION:

  • Are you on the endless treadmill of purchasing things hoping it will deliver happiness?
  • Is there some negative in you life you can remove to be happier?
  • Make a list of things you are tolerating and start to address them.
