CLARIFY A CONCEPT

How to clarify a concept you can’t articulate:

  1.  Change mediums.  Draw it.  Photograph it.  Sing it.
  2.  Change levels.  Explain what is one level up (bigger picture) or one level down (finer details).
  3.  Change fields.  What would this concept look like in different fields?

REFLECTION:

  • Is there a concept or situation you are challenged by?
  • What if you tried another approach?
  • Todays message from James Clear offers a new roadmap of possibility… try one or all the steps.

COMMA vs. PERIOD

Never place a period where God has placed a comma.

Quote by Gracie Allen

REFLECTION:

  • WOW… that’s a saying!    It requires that you have a little faith… maybe a lot of faith.
  • Have you placed a period where maybe there is a comma … A relationship with a spouse or friend, a health challenge for you or someone you love, a difficult work situation.
  • What if there is just a comma – not a period how does that shift things?

KINDS OF COURAGE

Courage is a generous act that involves risk.  It’s not courageous to hang out with friends and make a crank phone call.  The risk involved might be actual risk (it took courage to go to the moon) or it might feel risky (raising your hand at a meeting to ask a useful questions probably has no real downside but it feels that way).  Too often, we get hung up on how risky it feels, and fail to focus enough on how generous the work is.  Generosity is a great antidote to fear.

REFLECTION:

  • Courage involves risk.
  • Having courage and taking risks can be a generous act.
  • What if you could have the courage to to take a risk – write a book, share your story, heal a broken relationship, say you are sorry to another…
  • Knowing this is an act of generosity can help to shift from fear to being brave risk an action today.
