THE SUBJECT TONIGHT IS LOVE

THE SUBJECT TONIGHT IS LOVE

The subject tonight is Love

And for tomorrow night as well,

As a matter of fact

I know of no better topic

For us to discuss

Until we all

Die!

Poem by Hafiz

Shams-ud-din Muhammad Hafiz (c. 1320-1389) is one of the most beloved poets of the Persians, and is considered by many – from different cultures – to be one of the seven literary wonders of the world.

REFLECTION:

  • Conversational topic tonight:  Love
  • What will you say about it?
  • Have that conversation.

HOW WELL DO YOU LOVE?

Don’t ask yourself at the end of the day if you did everything right.  Ask yourself how well you loved and then grow from your answer.  Repeat for a lifetime.

Quote by L. R. Knost

L.R. Knost is an award-winning author, feminist, and social justice activist. She is the founder and director of the children’s rights advocacy and family consulting group, Little Hearts/Gentle Parenting Resources, and Editor-in-Chief of Holistic Parenting Magazine.

REFLECTION:

  • How well did you love yesterday…today?
  • Were you more focused on what you did right?  On what you accomplished?
  • How can you be more loving today?

BREAKING GLASS

Ceiling found in exhibit at Chiluly Garden and Glass Seattle, Washington

“Glass ceilings can’t stop me.  Glass slippers don’t interest me.  Glass mirrors don’t define me.  I decide who I will or I will not be.  And I choose to be :  UNBREAKABLE! UNTAKEABLE! UNSHAKEABLE!  ME.”

Quote by L. R. Knost

REFLECTION:

  • What defines you?
  • Have you decided who you will and will not be?
  • Who is that?
  • What will make you unbreakable, untakeable, and  unshakeable?
  • Try that on!!
