CROSS THE ABYSS

What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves?  This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it, all the rest are useless.

Quote by Thomas Merton

REFLECTION:

  • You can make changes in your life… move, change jobs, marry, get divorced but one things remains: you.
  • Without a sturdy sense of self, much falters.
  • So take some time today… maybe even walk in the moonlight and examine what makes you tick… is it serving you or leading you to an endless abyss?

DOES IT HAVE HEART?

Look at every path closely and deliberately.  then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question, ‘Does this path have a heart?  If it does, the path is good, if it doesn’t, it is of no use.

FROM:  The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda

REFLECTION:

  • Examine your path.  Does it have heart… perhaps like most of us, some of the paths do, others don’t.
  • How can you walk your path with heart today?

ALLOWING NOW

Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God.

Quote by Ram Dass

REFLECTION:

  • Amid loss, people often wish things would just go back to the way they were.  We can’t.  Change offers and opportunity for growth.
  • We grow by letting go of expectations and security.
  • Can you let go of expectations?  Safety?
  • Is there an alternative way of thinking… being?
