WORST POSSIBLE

Mushrooms attached to a tree is natures way of helping it decompose. While it's tempting to compare suffering, inconvenience, unfairness or general no-goodness, it's not helpful.  Someone else's trauma doesn't diminish yours.  In fact, when we can find the space to see that others have their own mess to deal with, it opens the door for forward motion.  The past happened, but all that's available to us now is the choice of what to do about it.  And doing it together is more nurturing, resilient and effective.Source: Seth Godin's Daily BlogREFLECTION:Do you compare yourself to others?Do you make space to see/acknowledge other's mess? How can you acknowledge what has happened and share to create a more nurturing, resilient and effective way of living?

A CALLING

If you live a life of watching and waiting, you will know what kind of call you have.  You are not called to solve every problem in the world.  Every human being has a call.  I work with mentally handicapped people.  Sometimes I spend hours with one person, and we barely speak.  Does that help people in Bosnia, does that help people in Northern Ireland, does it help people in Somalia?  I don't know, but I think it does.  I think that when I am faithful to one person who is given to me, when I am convinced that 's my vocation, then I am doing more than when I am anxiously trying to put out all the fires all over the world.  And that gives me peace.Quote by Henri NouwenREFLECTION:Are you busy putting out fires - constantly doing? What if helping/serving one person - being fully present is enough?

THE FUTURE DOESN’T CARE

The future doesn't care whether you're excited or filled with trepidation.  It arrives regardless.  What an opportunity.  Or a threat.  Up to us.Quote by Seth GodinREFLECTION:How do you view your future... excitement or trepidation? How can you turn this into an opportunity to look forward to it with excitement?
