FINDING FAULT

Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it.

FROM:  Quote by Og Mandino

REFLECTION:

  • How often do you criticize others?
  • Are you the type of person that tends to find fault with others?
  • STOP IT!!

    OR…

  • Do you allow the criticism, blaming and shaming of others to impact you?
  • They can’t have power over you unless you allow it!
  • TAKE YOUR POWER BACK!!

THE PERFECT CONDITIONS

Global Warming? Third highest tide in recorded history!

The Perfect Conditions

Somewhere, there is the ideal soil for growing mangos.  Or the best possible wave for surfing.  Or the most romantic sunset for a proposal.

But it’s not right here and it’s not right now.

Our success has a lot to do with how we dance with conditions that aren’t quite perfect.

FROM: Seth Godin’s daily blog

REFLECTION:

  • Do you wait for things to be ‘perfect’ before moving forward?
  • How do you ‘dance” when things aren’t quite perfect?
  • Is there a situation you are currently facing that calls for you to put on your dancing shoes … accept less than perfect conditions and do it anyway!

THE USES OF SORROW

THE USES OF SORROW

(In my sleep I dreamed this poem)

Someone I loved once gave me
a box full of darkness.

It took me years to understand
that this, too, was a gift.

Poem by Mary Oliver from her 2007 collection, Thirst: Poems

REFLECTION:

  • What “boxes of darkness” do you have that still haunt you?
  • What is something that you previously viewed as dark and negative but now see as a necessary part of your journey?
  • Is there some experience or challenge you are currently experiencing that you can see as a gift? Write about it.
